    Smile vBulletin User-Friendly Optimization Tips

Here I listed a couple of tips to make your vBulletin more user-friendly,thus giving your users the right feeling :

In Site Name / URL / Contact Details keep your forum name short and descriptive.Otherwise the breadcrumb may look pretty bad.
If you don't have an homepage at least put there a link to the forum home.
Definitely allow unregistered users to use 'Contact Us' but don't require image verifications. As the string is case sensitive and the letters may not be displayed properly many people can get mad and just leave.Copyright text is very important too.

In General Settings: Keywords and description will be explained in SEO tips
Disable forum jump.Just ask yourself , how many times will my user use that?Never.Never never never.Enable forum leaders.People like to view who is on the top of the forum .And make sure you enabled all AJAX features.AJAX rules .

In Server Settings and Optimization Options disable phpinfo displaying.Certain php versions may contain security flaws and your site can get easily hacked.Safe Mode Upload Enabled should be set to no even if you have php safe mode enabled. This does not make a difference.

In Email Options enable emailing and users to email each other.Emails rule too so yeah .Use mailqueue system to avoid high server load.

Censorship is not important. If people are intelligent enough to register on your board then they definitely can swear.

In User Registration Options disable image verification. As stated before people get mad.You shouldn't set welcome emails.People don't ever read that crap so you just flood them with mails.Verify Email address in Registration should be off too because everybody hates to wait until an emails arrive so they can click a stupid link to actually do something on your board.Make them instantly subscribe to emails and enable admin mails so they come to your site again and again

Without question enable avatars and reputation. Those things are the most important things on your board.

On members list make sure that the last visit,pm/email and IM column is enabled. These are very important if somebody uses the member list.

In Message Posting and Editing Options make sure that quick reply is enabled without clicking. That is very annoying as you want to type a message quickly but you have to click a stupid link?No thanks I rather don't reply.+ Enable quick edit!Don't prevent 'SHOUTING'.If your members want to shout, let them.

In Poll and Thread Rating Options let users change thread ratings.People may change their opinion.

In Message Searching Options let users search frequently as you want.People may search for something and suddenly realize they added the wrong keywords. But then they have to wait.lol not cool

In Forums Home Page Options display logged in users.Everybody wants to know if their favourite member is online.

In Forum Listings Display Options set Depth of Forums - Forum Home to 2 to display even subforums

In Forum Display Options (forumdisplay) enable Show Users Browsing Forums.Same as above in logged in users.Show Sticky Threads on All Pages because mostly sticky threads contain very important info!

In Thread Display Options (showthread) enable users browsing thread.Same reason as above.

In Private Messaging Options enable Instant Messaging Support - Check for New Private Messages so a user can get the PM instantly. That way can users keep their conversations up to date.

In Plugin/Hook System definitely enable plugins

Hehe very funny, I've read this thread before I did register here. And I had to verify my email and I got a welcome PM + Email from your board.
You don't follow your own suggestions?
    ... but it's okay, it isn't that user-un-friendly
